Borrowed Collection Bride: Meghan

Borrowed Collection Bride: Meghan

Meet Meghan, our stylish bride who married her groom, Zach, at one of our favourite Vancouver venues, Hycroft Manor. We first met Meghan at the Just Add Love Wedding Show and immediately loved her classic, yet glamorous bridal vision!

Meghan chose an incredible team of vendors for her day, including one of our favourite beauty teams, Denise Elliott Makeup Artistry, for her hair and makeup.
TBC: How would you describe your bridal style?
Meghan: "That's a hard one... I would consider myself pretty casual. I like to be comfy, but when the event is right, I do like to dress up. My bridal vision changed over months of planning and replanning. At first, I thought I would be more boho and flowy, but when I tried on dresses, it just wasn't perfect. Our first wedding venue was in a park, very DIY, but it just wasn't perfect. In the end, I followed my gut.. I went with the dress that took my breath away, and planned a cocktail wedding in an old historic mansion, with outdoor space. In the end, I'd say I ended up being a bit glam with a side of boho, which is a great representation of my true self :)"

TBC: Did you find that your wedding day style reflected your everyday style, or was it quite a bit different?

Meghan: "My wedding style was quite different from my everyday. Normal day, you will generally find me with little to no makeup on, and my hair in a knot on top of my head :) When going out for an event etc, I do like to sparkle a bit, but I'm never one to spend too much time on hair and makeup."

TBC: When it comes to the vision that you had for your bridal style, did anything change along the way?

Meghan: My hair did change, but it was due to weather; being that it was a bit wet, and my hair is so fine, the curls wouldn't have held being loose, so we tied it to the side, which i loved in the end! For my makeup: for months, I thought I was going to have bright red lips (my shoes were red too!), but on the day when asked to choose between highlighting my eyes or my lips, I choose to have my eyes pop and have more neutral lips.

Ben-Amun's Floral Crystal Bracelet (above) & Simple Floral Crystal Necklace were the perfect, classic choice for Meghan. She paired them with Haute Bride's Vintage Crystal Drop Earrings (below), as well as our Lily Chapel Veil.
TBC: You chose some of our favorite Borrowed Collection pieces for your wedding accessories – was there one item that you feel completed your look the most?
Meghan: I felt the earrings & veil really completed my look - but I loved every piece!

TBC: Lastly, do you have any advice for future brides, when it comes to defining their own bridal style?

Meghan: Be open, try things, have fun and choose what makes YOU feel most beautiful :) I tried on dresses with big fluffy feathers to sleek tight silk - you never know!

Our thanks to Meghan for sharing her gorgeous wedding with us! It is always such an honor to be a small, sparkly part of such incredible celebrations!
